You may only have budget now for a pair of 5" monitors. At that point, you'll need to start all over. eventually you'll realize they are not very good and you'll want better accuracy. If you buy the monitors "w/ great bass" now. It's MUCH MUCH better to get an accurate pair of 5" monitors right now, and then grab the sub at a later date when you can afford it. The 5" monitors that "pump the bass" or have "nice bass sound" are NOT accurate representations of the bass sounds, and will result in notsogreat mixes until you become extremely extremely good at mixing and understanding the flaws in your monitors. Those are the only real options that are going to allow you to accurately hear your low end. b/c you can't afford 8" monitors, 10" monitors, or 5" monitors + sub. This is a situation where you budget has the capability of ruining your purchase decision. Please don't fall into the "this 5" inch monitor pumps bass" trap. I don't think there's a better monitor set around for 240 bucks or less, that I can mix well on. Bought them for 120 euro a piece, 240 in total.
